Man, 35, Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Car At Busy Long Island Intersection

A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle at a busy intersection on Long Island.

It happened just before 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, in Hicksville.

According to detectives, a 35-year-old man was crossing the street from south to north at the intersection of Old Country Road and South Broadway when he was struck by a 2017 Nissan Altima that was traveling westbound.

The driver of the vehicle, a 90-year-old woman, remained at the scene.

The vehicle was impounded for a brake and safety check.

The victim suffered multiple serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released. The investigation is ongoing.
